Get ready, indie documentary and subculture lovers! Doc’n Roll Films is buzzing to announce the first-ever DOC’N ROLL AMSTERDAM FILM FESTIVAL this spring, running from 10–12 April in collaboration with the iconic music venue Melkweg.

This inaugural Doc'n Roll edition in the Netherlands will bring an electrifying lineup of Dutch film premieres, celebrating the wild, the groundbreaking, and the legendary stories behind the music and subcultures they represent.

Expect a deep dive into the lives of trailblazers like OL' DIRTY BASTARD (Wu-Tang forever!), Detroit techno mastermind CARL CRAIG, DC hardcore heroes FUGAZI, Glasgow's post-rock legends MOGWAI, 2-Tone queen PAULINE BLACK and Canadian indie giants BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE. These films don’t just tell these artists' stories – they bring their worlds to life, giving you a front-row seat to music history.

Staying true to its DIY mission of championing under-the-radar music documentaries and the rebel spirits they profile, DOC’N ROLL AMSTERDAM FILM FESTIVAL will feature Dutch premieres of films that push the boundaries of music storytelling.

This year’s Amsterdam lineup will take audiences on a genre-hopping journey – from New York to Detroit, Toronto to Washington, London to Coventry – across rock, punk, hip-hop, techno, R&B and 2-Tone. From the first-ever official doc on Ol’ Dirty Bastard to a raw, soulful look at Broken Social Scene, these unique films celebrate the humanity and unfiltered spirit of music across the spectrum.

Doc’n Roll Programmer Colm Forde says, “We are excited to expand into Amsterdam from our London base with an excellently varied selection of brand new arts and subculture documentaries. Collaborating with the internationally renowned Melkweg arts venue on this launch is a real honour.”
